The debates likely helped the majority of fence-sitter moderates make the choice in their heads. Anybody willing to be honest with themselves has to admit that there was only one candidate who wanted to have a serious debate, and it wasn't Trump. Make no mistake, Kamala is no progressive saint. But to their eyes at least, she isn't obviously facing mental decline like Biden is and she isn't spouting out conspiracies about transgender conversions in prison and cat eating immigrants. And that's good enough for them.
