Animation rigging package

I am trying to use the animation rigging package to attach my characters hand to a gun, i am using the two bone IK constraint however the arms seem to want to snap to strange positions and have weird offsets, with the left hand holding the front of the gun, it snaps between two positions when it should easily reach the target, and with the right hand it shoots straight up into the air despite the target being around chest level, any help?

The selected object is where the hand is supposed to be, it isn't
