Can you really just copy paste Unity made Steam games with no problem?

Post Body

Indie dev here, I just copy pasted one of my Unity Steam builds into another folder and found that it still works. (Steam->Manage files->copy pasted the build elsewhere) I understand the fight against piracy and all that is pointless so I'm not really going down the DRM path. But is it really that easy? They can just copy paste the files? I was hoping on releasing free playtests that were only available for a small window of time, which we would use to gather feedback, and then work on the game for the next free playtest. But can people just copy paste the files and then be able to play the free playtest forever? Or am I missing some steps in my Unity/Steam setup?
