where would i start making a low-poly smooth voxel engine?

im trying to make a smooth voxel engine to use across all of my games and my huge survival game project(still in the design faze i haven't even made the unity project) and i don't know how to make a voxel octree ive seen some code for an octree and followed world of zero's octee tutorial but i still dont understand it and i have no idea how im gonna do meshing with an octree
edit: i found this octree implementation https://github.com/Nition/UnityOctree but im still not sure how to use it for voxels
