I've been working for a (long) while on a side project involving the AR technology that Vuforia provides. I started when Vuforia got officially supported on Unity and before AR Foundation were a thing, so I thought it was "the official way to go" and didn't really gave a second thought to the tech, as (for what I saw) it was the only option that looked "professional" enough.
Fast forward to today. I've come to a point in which I've started looking to the licensing of Vuforia because reasons, and I'm contemplating the possibility of switching to "any" kind of free option, as paying over 500$ for an application no one will use is something I'm not really eager to do.
The thing is that I haven't looked around AR Foundation a lot, and the few stuff I've seen, it looks like, on one side, that there's lot of room for improvement, but on the other side, that there's lot of stuff that Vuforia is not providing. Also, being able to deploy my shitty application with no cost for using this tech.
So, does anyone here has experience on any or both of these platforms? Would be recommended for someone like me switching, taking into account prices, time and re-re-re-refactorization syndrome?. Is AR Foundation "mature" enough to support some shitty puzzles using AR?
(Also, there's any decent tutorial/guide on switching from one tech to other?)
Thanks!
