Just a quick word of note.
I've not noticing persons both down-voting and reporting friendly discussion and newcomer questions. Stop it.
Sure some of the questions that flow through here may not sound all too smart, especially when you've had multiple years of experience with unity, but understand that you weren't knowledgeable when you first started either. /r/Unity3d is a place for newcomers and experienced professionals alike.
If you seriously take issue with this stance then feel free to message me directly. Otherwise piss off.

How? "Don't be a dick" is a pillar of community. It's also a paraphrase of the first Reddiquette guideline:
Remember the human. When you communicate online, all you see is a computer screen. When talking to someone you might want to ask yourself "Would I say it to the person's face?" or "Would I get jumped if I said this to a buddy?"

The problem isn't that we can't shrug off the assholes, but those same assholes have an affect on visibility of the issue.
