I see tutorials on YT that says you can make 3D cubes and assign them to 2d sprites. I did this on a game a while back, but it seemed like unnecessary and inefficient work.
Now I’m making a new project and I’m interested in using the navmesh again to control AI in 2d. Do you guys have a cool clean approach where you don’t have to think about some underlying 3D copy of your game?(i found it annoying when I’m making level design and layers and such). Or should I just create my own A*? (Seems like a lot of work as well. Or, idk, maybe not that much, but I wanna get going with my idea!)
Ideally, I could just use sprites on the navmesh and not have to worry about 3D. And tell unity which sprites the navmesh should detect. (Also, why is this not a feature in unity already? Like seriously?!? ........)
