Problem with a 2d raycast collision

I have this small issue with a 2d raycast detection code in which the gameobject doesn't stop where it is intended to stop based on the raycast. I tried googling and read the documentation, used Rigidbody2D.Cast() as an alternative but I ended up with the same results.
