This will be the first of many voting threads posted tonight, assuming I receive either the notes or recording from the mumble conference soon, so make sure you check back often.

This vote is to determine whether or not Blackcrown will become a protectorate of the U3P or remain as a full member.

Being a protectorate would mean several things for Blackcrown, or for any town. First, Blackcrown senators will not have a vote in any official business, they will retain a single representative who will still be able to participate in all discussions and have access to the government subreddit. Second, Blackcrown will retain equal access to the snitch network and the vault that is in the process of being established. Third, Blackcrown will still be treated as a full member in all other aspects.

Blackcrown is being offered this because recently they have been inactive in the U3P. It is however still an active town that we value a continued relationship with. This vote may be reversed in the future if the senate determines to do so.

Senators from Blackcrown will not be allowed a vote. That said, I have previously discussed this with Dhingus and he is understanding and agrees that it is for the best.

The vote will be concluded in 24 hours from this post or once a majority has been determined. Senators must simply state "yes" for Blackcrown to become a protectorate or "no" for Blackcrown to retain full membership.

Note: Protectorate status is not something to be given out to any town that is struggling or otherwise does not meet our standards for full membership, it is intended to honor previous members who we still value and trust but for some reason or another are unable to complete their responsibilities fully.
