Slightly confused on how all of this works. I sent my information to UA local 33 (Des Moines, IA) through the āHelmets to Hardhatsā program last Friday, and I received a call today, Monday, from one of the directors asking me to come down to the union hall to take an evaluation/test for plumbing this upcoming Friday. Is it normal to hear back this fast?
Also wondering what happens next assuming I pass the test. Interviews? I just donāt know how the entire process works to become an apprentice or how long it takes. I got out of the Marine Corps recently after 8 years as a helicopter mechanic and Iāll be needing a job sooner than later.
He told me the test is just some basic math and that I should be fine given my background, but Iāll still be studying this week regardless. Iām mechanically inclined but have little to no experience in plumbing. Any advice for the test would also be appreciated!

Gotcha, thank you for the insight! Do you remember how long after test that they got back to you for the interview?
