Don't get me wrong I think it's great developing knowledge and specialising in an area you are interested in. It's just unbelievably disheartening and depressing knowing I'll be applying for grad schemes, various jobs knowing I'm worthless as a company can just get rid of me in a heartbeat and there will be millions of others like me. Ready to replace me at an instant. I thought after going to uni I could consider myself intelligent but I don't feel it in anyway, in fact the more I dive into a subject the more stupid I feel. I just don't see the point, I'm never going to do ground-breaking work in academia or worklife. I don't know how to learn anymore nor do I feel the motivation.
