I'm currently in the UK and will be living here long-term, and I'm desperately trying to secure a job of some kind.
I'm originally from the US and my CV is stellar and my MSc program is pretty good. My issue? I'm terrible with maths (and interviews).
There are loads of great graduate schemes I'd like to be a part of but I need to somehow pass the numerical assessments, which I don't think I can pass so easily. Weirdly enough I took loads of maths modules back in the US and did really well. But I'm stumped with reading basic graphs and putting the info altogether, like how it is on the assessments.
I was thinking of buying a practice assessment package through graduatesfirst.com. The reviews seem pretty good. Anybody have any experience with them?
On another related note, I am indeed terrible with interviews. I have terrible social anxiety and the thought of me having to go through several rounds of interviews AND some sort of assessment centre is seriously nerve-wracking for me. (Note: "assessment centres" arent really a thing in the US so this is really a new thing for me).
I somehow managed to score some great jobs back when I was living in the US (lots of luck and pity from people), which is why my CV and work experience is so good. I almost feel like a fraud for having such a CV.
If anybody could give me some pointers or tips that would be great. Thanks.
