For the past year or so I've been using chatGPT to code everything. I don't hide it, and I am honest about it. I always get rave reviews about my code, and I just say 'thanks, but I just used chatGPT'.
I got a huge raise for all the code I output. I say 'thanks, I mainly use chatGPT to write all my code'.
The thing is, nobody else is doing it. They use chatGPT to debug, like stackoverflow, but they don't use it for whole sheets of code.
I tell them 'you know, you could just have chatGPT to that for you' and they say something like 'oh really?' but then they never use it.
Maybe they don't understand what I mean when I say I use chatGPT to write all my code? But I don't understand how can I be and more clear without either me sounding stupid or me sounding like I think they're stupid.
I'm involved in projects I know little about the technology. I volunteered to help out in some places, and even thought I don't understand the code base works, I just ask chatGPT what to do, and it gives it to me. If people have questions, I ask chatGPT and it gives me the answer. If I get feedback on a code review, I just ask chatGPT and it updates it for me. Again, I am honest about everything. In the zoom meetings I say 'thanks, chatGPT gave me the solution' ( I am careful not to write down in written form that I use chatGPT in case legal!) .
Maybe they think I'm joking?
Surely, this can't last forever.
