So, I'm dealing with a bit of a weird and gross situation involving dog poop and an odd neighbor, and I'd love some insights on what to do next.

The same day our trash gets collected, someone has been tossing dog poop bags into my empty trash cans. Now, we're the only house on the block with a privacy hedge and a big oak tree on the public median, and no one else around here even owns a dog. Because of this, I’ve started pulling the cans into my yard after trash day to avoid dealing with random poop bags.

Anyway, today it’s 80 degrees outside, and we had trash pickup on Friday morning. There were no poop bags in my cans on trash day, but today—suddenly—six (very differently bagged) bags of dog poop just appeared, in the middle of the sidewalk, all old and stinking. It was a pretty awful way to start the day. I got myself a thick contractor bag, nitrile gloves, and an old dustpan to deal with it, quietly realizing that this has escalated from annoying to something clearly purposeful.

So, here's where it gets even weirder: as I'm cleaning up, a neighbor who likes to park in front of my house suddenly bolts out of his car and starts screaming the N-word into his phone repeatedly. This guy has a driveway three houses down but often parks here—apparently to avoid his parents (he's 35). His car has illegal blackout tints, and it's been wrecked so many times it's practically held together by duct tape. He didn't say anything to me but passed by in the middle of this racist outburst.

Now I'm completely confused. Why was this guy just sitting in his car on a warm day? And more importantly, could he be behind the poop bags? People I’ve talked to are convinced he collected those bags and dumped them there on purpose. It feels insane to think that, but I’m really not sure at this point.

I honestly just want whoever is leaving these anonymous poop bags to stop. The whole thing seems targeted since no one else around here has dogs, and they specifically left it right where I’d notice.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on here? Or suggestions on how to make it stop? I'm seriously considering installing a camera, but I'm also just baffled by the entire situation.
