ULPT Request: My apartment complex won’t update my ac - how can I force their hand?

The unit that is here is like 20 or more years old and is costing me a fortune in electrical bills. It costs more To cool my 700 sq ft apartment than It did my 1700 sq foot condo. But they said it works and that’s all that matters. I don’t enough to make it not work without possibly injuring myself! lol
