Hi everyone,
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, can someone please tell me what this means? I filed for UI in April, and finally got this letter the other day:
“We made a decision about your unemployment benefits claim based on information we have at this time. We re-evaluated your unemployment benefits starting Apr 5 2020. This update was due to a change in at least one of the items below: • Determination of a new issue. • Redetermination of an existing issue. • Determination or redetermination of a monetary decision. • An update to your weekly claim deductions. • Processing of an appeal decision.
If we need to consider other questions about your claim, we’ll send you separate letters to address each issue.
Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020, individuals who are eligible for Regular UI can receive an additional $600 included in their weekly payment. This is called Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC). If you were denied a full week of benefits under your regular unemployment compensation, you are ineligible for any FPUC payments for that week.
You can appeal this decision if you disagree with it.
We sent a copy of this letter to the people or businesses listed below. They can appeal the decision, too. We'll notify you if they do.”
The rest of the letter is about how to appeal the decision.
Is it just mean, or did they leave out WHAT the decision actually is? I’ve read it a dozen times and feel like an idiot, are they secretly telling me the decision is NO? Or are they saying YES? Or is it Maybe? Or “yes, you’re claim has been denied”? Or “No, you’re claim hasn’t been denied. Yet”
Ok, I’ll stop going down that slippery slope of interpreting government correspondence. Can someone help?
Thanks!
