Darkest Dungeon inspired Stress and Afflictions system V0.5
Hello! I have just finished creating the first real public draft of a Stress System that I'm hoping to make. This isn't a simple system, it's more of a overhaul or the creation of a full feature.

Stress and Afflictions is a system designed around the idea of your party having a secondary health bar. This health bar, when filled, will begin debuffing the individual. This system is built around requiring rests and relaxation so that you can more easily escape the horrors of the dungeon or woods.
Every character has a Set of Phobias, which are their deep fears. The Phobias grant them ways to increase their stress, making the players have to be more cautious around certain situations, and forcing players to make decisions that would potentially be sub optimal in a regular DND game.
Every character, when they reach their breaking point, will snap and gain an Affliction of their choice. Every character has two Afflictions chosen by the Player, and they may pick which one whenever they snap. This allows the player to still hold agency over their character, despite the panic setting in. Afflictions provide large debuffs, but they also help: They suppress a Phobia, and grant a benefit in combat as well, so that your character can continue onward and face horrors in even the worst of situations.
Finally, every class has features related to this, and feats are modified and added in order to fit the theme. Class Features were added considering how strong the class is in general tier lists: Bards have weaker features than Rangers, for example. Additionally, new incantations and fighting styles were added to go along with the system.
A Disclaimer, this is only version 0.5. If you are interested, please read through it and report and balancing issues that you may have noticed. I am constantly attempting to make this better. Also, if you have suggestions, please send them my way! I would love to be able to create more content for this and I can’t think of everything on my own.
Thank you anyone who reads it, and especially thank you for those who have critiques or suggestions.
