Playing through the game again recently, it brought back an older topic i've talked about: Is flowey actually a true golden flower?
I understand that if you look at him intially, you'd be pretty convinced he was. golden petals, all the lore involving the golden flowers, and all the beds of them around.
However, there are a few things i'd like to point out that are just different than the golden flowers.
So first, let's look at flowey, both in and out of battle:
Now let's look at golden flowers, and Echo Flowers.
Golden flowers: in the lab, in New Home
Echo Flowers: in a room in waterfall (Note, all echoflowers seem to be the same exact model, so it's not needed to show another image.)
Now, let's take in everything about Flowey, golden flowers and Echoflowers, by starting with what most think he is, a golden flower.
Golden flowers seem to be very aggressive growers, often bunching up and creating carpets of themselves. one only need to look at the throne roome to see that they can occupy and thrive even when bunched up, as long as they're taken care of.
They have 5 petals, all of them. every last one. i know, i've checked, but go painstakingly look for yourself, you'll never find one with six petals, other than flowey himself. they also have long, thin, stringy stems, not T H I C C at all.
Echo flowers, on the other hand, have some unique properties. they can somewhat move, at least to make noise, they have six petals, all of them. they have a scrawny stem near the flower head, but widen down to the base on the ground. They have the ability to not only remember what was said, how it was said (pauses, emotional states) but even the very voice of the one they're copying. whether it's Toriel, or Undyne.
So, what does this all mean? It means i don't believe, for one minute, flowey is a pure golden flower. there are too many similarities to echo flowers that show up in his design.
Six petals, a stem with a scrawny neck and wide base, and most importantly, the ability to not only perfectly copy a voice, but it's emotional states as well. He can even morph his face to more closely resemble another person, and further more, can even use it to mimic the voice of his "God of hyperdeath" form, which he could have only done, if he'd remembered how it sounded when he took Chara's soul as Asriel.
I do believe, however, that the flower used could have been some sort of hybrid between the two flowers. his petals ARE golden, and more rounded than an echo flower's. what do you guys think?
