All reps will be influential in voting for a new Reapportionment Act, but itâs true some representatives hold more leverage than others.
As Assistant Speaker of the House, itâs easy to imagine that Rep. Katherine Clark of Massachusettsâ 5th district might have some sizable influence.
Sheâs currently against expanding the house, it seems, but perhaps we can win her over and turn her from an opponent to an ally!
âDid I not destroy my enemy when I made them my friend?â -Abraham Lincoln
Please consider tweeting, calling, or writing an email to her voicing your support for uncapping the house. Most people here seem to support the Cube Root Rule, but you should ask for the method you prefer. (This is a democratic republic, after all)
It might be worth looking over her website and seeing which policies and achieves you appreciate and thank her and her staff for their work.
Letâs help the Democratic and Republican parties live up to their names by asking them to increase the number of representatives serving in the House!
Remember to be polite and direct, please. Her time and their staffsâ time are valuable, as is yours. (And you win more flies with honey than vinegar.)
