This week’s poll will be focused on the Wyoming Rule, whereas next week the poll will evaluate all other methods (and will omit the Wyoming Rule).
If you don’t care for the Wyoming Rule in any regard, just consider the number of representative that each version of the Wyoming rule would translate to in the House.
For example:
Wyoming-1: is most similar to the Cube Root rule
Wyoming-2: is essentially Madison’s original intent for the House
Wyoming-3: seems like it would be similar in number to the extension of Madison’s algorithm in the Congressional Apportionment Amendment.
Wyoming-5: because there has been a very industrious Individual on twitter creating a series of maps that does a great job of illustrating the types of nuance possible with increasing number of representatives (regardless of which method is ultimately chosen).
Wyoming-11: would be 52,000k constituent per district, which would be very similar to where Madison’s CAA formula actually ended in his proposed amendment.
Wyoming-19: is as close to maximizing the House of Representatives in the context of the Wyoming Rule.
The assumption is a population of 328.2 million Americans.
Population of Wyoming rounded to 580k people (according to the US Census Bureau)
Number of representatives in each option is an estimate, but should be pretty close.
The poll will be open for an entire week. As usual, your comments and questions are welcome!
