I’m in the midst of gaining evidence to file a defamation lawsuit against a former employer, company has appx. 6 employees. This fucking small business owner, i separated from the company in October 2020 due to covid. No issues. In an email sent a few weeks later he told me “if business picks up” he’d be glad to consider rehiring me.

Now, four years later, he’s telling First Advantage (a background check company) that i am “not rehire eligible” and this is due to i was “fired for cause” and/or due to “company policy” (whatever that means). I’m also almost 100% certain his two $62k PPP loans - both forgiven - were obtained AND forgiven due to some type of fraud.

I’m going to spend a lot of money investigating everything and suing him as bad as possible. He cost me a GREAT job this summer, would have been wonderful, literally for nothing.

Who knows? Maybe going to show a hostile workplace environment for use during a wrongful termination lawsuit?

I really do need a good PPP loan investigator. For example, chatGPT (i know, i know) indicated that in order to have the loan forgiven the company had to be suffering due to Covid-related business conditions in the US. However, this small company obtains 100% of its revenue in the form of euros, from German-speaking European countries. So i have to figure out whether that’s something or not. I believe he counted a part-time employee as a full-time employee. I believe he lied about the circumstances of my employment on his PPP loan forgiveness paperwork. And we were busy pretty much all of 2020, anyway, and $62k would have been enough to pay salaries for all employees owner for at least two months.

This guy was operating on all cylinders plus having received a free $125k in PPP loans.

Unbelievable stuff.
