I just finished watching Umbrella Academy S4 and I just...? I can't articulate that ending in my head. I know UA has it's dark moments but that was genuinely depressing and, not gonna lie, it's not an ending I accept simply because of how much of a mess S4 was.
They tried to make it a bittersweet ending, but it was just bitter, in my opinion. The only part that made it even remotely sweet was the fact they didn't blow up the whole world. I understand that the UA was the central cause for many and most of the crap happening in the series, and I wouldn't be against killing them off in the end.
But with the HUGE off-camera timeskip, it was just hard to connect to the characters once more, and the way the writers tried to tie up the characters' arcs was rushed. This season just left me wanting more, even though it's truly the end. I feel like they had a vision in mind for S4 after the ending of S3, but for some reason, they just didn't stick to it and conjured up a brand new vision that was sloppy and just made UA S4 a mess.
Exactly. The entire season was a mess when it came to their lives post-timeskip that when they did die, it just threw me off.
But I'm fine with them dying in the end. I just can't accept it because of how the writers treated the characters. It didn't feel as if the Hargreeves were able to truly reach the end of their respective arcs before they died, or if they did, it was rushed as hell. Idk, I felt like they had more to show, but before they did, it was the end.

I didn't know there were already deleted scenes, I'll go look for them. Thanks!
