Sorry if this has already been posted, but I find Klaus' misreading of his tarot card pull in season 4 (and more importantly, the ACTUAL meaning of the card he ACTUALLY pulled really interesting)

PREFACE TO SAY: I am currently only on 4x2 and am making these observations in real time prior to finishing the season based on my knowledge of tarot interpretations. I will not be looking at this thread too close until I finish to avoid spoilers. If I'm wrong about anything, oh well it's just theories at this point.

In 4x2: "Jean and Gene", Klaus pulls some tarot cards while waiting for his siblings. He first pulls The Lovers, and semi-incorrectly interprets this to mean that he needs to get laid. In actual tarot, while The Lovers can represent love to an extent, the true meaning is more about the importance of making choices that align with your values and desires.

Next, he pulls The Tower, and again is semi-correct in saying it represents a loss of self-control. In actuality, this card more so represents the idea that great change or upheaval is necessary to reach new and greater experiences. In short, it's a positive card showing that one must hit rock bottom before they can rebuild (in my interpretation). One could even say Klaus' interpretation is indicative of his perspective on life and sobriety. It's also not lost on me that last we saw Hargreeves (at this point in season 4), he was in a large tower. So the card depicting a burning tower may be very prophetic.

Last, he pulls the Ten of Swords. He incorrectly states to himself that this is the card Death (likely because it depicts someone who is dead). Klaus gives up on pulling cards at this point, obviously put off by what he perceives to be negative interpretations. However, even if the card he had pulled had been Death, this would actually symbolize a new beginning moreso than actual death. That being said, he actually pulled Ten of Swords, which can be interpreted to mean quite literally hitting rock bottom. It is technically a negative card in that it means getting to a really bad place, but the card offers hope similar to that in The Tower. Once again, it symbolizes a spiritual loss in order to have exponential spiritual gain later on.

Once again, I have not made it any farther than this scene as I am typing this. This is all an interpretation based on my own knowledge of tarot, and ultimately, I don't really know what any of this means for the plot or the rest of the season/series. If I had to venture a guess, it would be that Klaus is really going to have to confront his sobriety and demons in a real way (not in the overcorrected way he is seen to be doing at the beginning of the season, I say this as an addict who has flip-flopped between addiction and a weird over-obsessed "my body is a temple" mentality) in order to save his family and ultimately the world.

Just my .5 cents (yes not even a whole cent) because I was interested initially by his misidentifying the Ten of Swords as Death and being curious about how intentional a decision this was by the writers/directors.
