I have been saying this for years now. But with tokusatsu being as niche as it is now and anime staying as strong as it is despite the difficult media landscape of the 2020s. Ultraman really needs to get into that market. And no donāt even talk to me about that Netflix thing. That aināt Ultraman lmao. I mean a REAL one. Like Joneus but with a more mature writing style and ofc better animation. Everyone who reads this post. If you are one of those people who says āthat couldnāt possibly be goodā or āI donāt want itā go watch the first episode of Kaiju no 8 that just came out. Shit is mind blowing. This is just an opinion ofc but I think itās the best first episode of a Kaiju show since return of Ultraman over 50 years ago. Tsuburaya should have offered Ultraman to studio trigger and not Gridman and Andro Melosā¦ the Netflix movie is cool btw but thatās a whole other discussion! (Oh man those plot leaks) I mean a Japanese production! One that has enough episodes to flesh out its characters and world view. 2025 is a big year for Ultraman as Tsuburaya has stated before. We have big live action productions coming. The first high budget Ultraman productions in over 20 years. But I think they should still expand into the market of anime.
