Hey hikers,
I can't find a lot of information on recommend time of year to hit this trail, something you get plenty of different perspectives on with other trails.
The limited information I have found has been conflicting, see below sources.
Referencing the second source, I know Darwin and Leonidas hiked it in February of 2018.
I was thinking following in their footsteps may be an excellent starter before going into the AT later the same year. I know it's recommended as a training hike and there's the whole 'should be part of the AT' thing.
But then, are you seeing the best of the trail in February/Winter?
Would love to get your opinions!

"Plan a spring trip The best time to hike the Pinhoti Trail is from the end of March to the end April. During this period, temperatures are typically mild, with highs in the 60s and 70s, and lows in the 50s and 60s. Also, the Pinhoti is especially attractive in April as wildflowers bloom all along the trail. Alternatively, if you want more views along the high ridges, you can travel in winter when the trees lose their leaves."

" When to go October through March would be the best time to hike as the weather is cooler and the bugs are mostly gone. The trail is hiked year-round but late spring and into early fall generally bring high temperatures and water can be harder to find."
