Post Body
How necessary is a bivy for cowboy camping if at all? I’ve done plenty of cowboy camping on the East Coast, never seemed to need a bivy can’t remember having to deal with much condensation issues with my bag, unless I just didn’t care at that point on my thruhike. Headed out west for the first time next year and I see/hear people talk about using a bivy setup when they’re not under their tarp/tent during a storm. So what’s the point other than protecting the bag/condensation??
