A construction site near me was putting up their building vapor barrier stuff recently, and I don't have any, so I grabbed some, but it's weathersmart D by from Henry company rather than tyvek. I've seen some people mention off brand stuff here and there but never in any detail (never mentioning what stuff they're talking about, I assume there's a few different ones and they're not the same). Do any of you have any experience with this or any other similar products?
Anyway, it seems reasonably durable, water resistant, and lightweight. I sewed a stake bag by hand and it hasn't fallen apart from the perforation, and my experience cutting it gives me some confidence wrt it's abrasion resistance, slept in a little wet spot ( and a couple other places) a few days ago and stayed dry and it didn't get any holes immediately, I havent stress tested it just yet and I don't know how well it will hold up over time obviously.
