Trail runners for wet conditions?

Post Body

Planning on a late August thru-hike of the Northville-Placid Trail in the Adirondacks of New York and my current Merrell trail runners just had holes poked in them by some errant sticks while fishing on a recent trip.

The trail is notoriously wet and muddy, requiring many river crossings. Iโ€™m looking for recommendations on a new pair with the following criteria: -quick dry/not waterproof (mesh preferred) -decent ankle support (do mid-height runners exist?) -closed toe/heel (no sandals)

I know many people recommend Altras, but I have no experience with zero drop shoes and donโ€™t have much time to experiment beforehand.
