Microspikes field repair

I snapped one of the sides of the TPE harness on my kahtoola microspikes on a trip this weekend.

I carry two zip ties for repair , and I went through both zip ties with each zip tie snapping after less than 2 hours of walking each.

This meant I had to cut my objective short, since I didn’t want to descend a steep, icy pass in the morning with only one fully functioning microspike.

Has anyone found a better field repair on this fairly critical piece of safety equipment?

Also, what should I replace these with - another set of Kahtoolas or the BD access?
