Are load lifters a really big deal?

I've only ever used packs with load lifters so I don't know what one without feels like, but I'm really torn between the GG mariposa and hmg 3400, I want the hmg but the only thing holding me from choosing it is the lack of load lifters. I'll be using it on a thru hike so I'm gonna be carrying it all day every day pretty much
