There's going to be a line of 100 ammo filled trucks and everybody will be ignoring them to fly into the one disabled tank to get the kill. Team chat will be filled with non-pilots screaming to ignore the tank and hit the trucks.

It provides an incentive to act for the metric rather than what's best at that moment. A scooby doo van filled with injured people is worth more than a currently empty logistics outpost full of stuff even though the logistics outpost causes more damage if destroyed.

That's a bit different because there's really only one best way to land on a carrier with each aircraft. Points for landing in the correct spot, at the correct speed, on the centerline, etc. In a battle a tank isn't always going to be the best target, especially if the drone doesn't have a warhead that can hurt the tank.
