To outfit the average marine today it costs appx. $100,000. While I agree with you, I just want to clarify what you’re talking about.

HK M27 rifle (variant of HK416) is $10k, sidearm $2k. Rifle optics (ACOG) can cost a few grand up to more than rifles. If you’re a marine heading into war are you gonna buy a top of the line optic or will you settle for standard issue and keep the truck? Laser optic is five grand. Backup thermal optic they keep in the locker/truck, $10k. Body armor plate and helmet, another $10k. Secure radio (Thales), $5k, Peltor headset/hearing protection $1k. Many pairs socks, a few pairs of boots, a few uniforms (up to $1k/each). Cold gear, backpack, battle pack, most expensive battle ammunition and highest quality mags. Grenades. (let’s say $6k for cold gear to nades)

I haven’t even mentioned night vision optics (wired/wireless/quad tube/dual tube), which cost easily $13k. Does the marine carry and HE? MANPADS? Sniper rifle? Shottie?

Even with nothing else, no mine detectors, no laser designators to coordinate air strikes or any other specialized equipment like micro drones, you’re already at $65k.
