I am a 27M, Kenyan. I recently started seeing a 28F from Uganda. She’s intriguing and fun to hangout with. We’ve gone out to several adventure trips and the feeling seems to be mutual.
We however had an argument a few weeks ago about her visiting her male friend(In his house). I told her I am not comfortable with her visiting her male friends especially in their houses. She played it down saying that they’ve known each other for years and that she’s an adult and I should trust her.
She also mentioned something, that Ugandan men are so kind and gentlemen in nature that they take labels seriously, like if it’s friendship, it’s purely friendship and nothing else.
I am seeking advice from you guys, because back in Kenya we don’t believe in the idea of “male friends”. I just want to know if I am being naive and getting played, or you guys still have strong societal values within you.
Thank you.
