My mother brought me to Uganda from UK when I was 2 in 1982. I was told when she settled here it was very hard to get just the normal things like Soda , indian spices at times even there where was curfew. We were robbed so many times when we lived in Old Kampala at Gun point etc. When the country was going to elections my father used to send us to UK until things settled and then we would be back. He built his business from scratch more than a dozen times yet he still loves Uganda. I dont think we will ever leave as we believe Uganda is our home. Even now when I drive around I get called Muhindi and still get funny looks. Do all Ugandans believe the brown man was born in India and there is no place for them in Uganda?
