If I delete files on the chrome is will they delete on the Linux is as well?

I'm running Ubuntu in a dual boot shell on an Acer chromebook. My device is coming up on full space. I see that the downloads I got while in Linux are in the chrome is as well. If I delete the files on the chrome side will I loose them on the Linux side.? Or are they just copy's I can get rid of.
