I have a 2011 iMac i7 2nd gen, 16gb of RAM and 1TB 7200RPM HDD.
I had tried OCLP Patch for MacOS and tinkered around before I noticed it became unusable so I went back to High Sierra. (I'll get to that in a minute)
It's mainly for home-office use - we store our family photos, videos, phone-backups, checking e-mails and e-signing PDF's..
I filed my taxes the other day on this computer and the web-browser was so slow .. I know it wasn't my internet because it was fine everywhere else.
Could Ubuntu bring it back to life or is it time to retire this computer? (I really don't want to because it was given to us from Make-A-Wish Foundation back in 2010)
If I were to put Ubuntu on the iMac .. I would reserve at-least 128gb for MacOS in-case it needs to be restored back to it's original OS..
Also - are there any compatible keyboards for a Mac running Ubuntu? I'd get the Space Grey Mac Keyboard but it's too expensive.
