First, this is not a pressing issue just something rather irritating that I have had to deal with since I first loaded Ubuntu 3 years ago.
Sometimes it will let me log in without any delay, but most of the time it’s a few seconds up to at least a minute before the keys are active and will allow me to log in. I’ve just been dealing with it by waiting for the keystrokes to return.
Just waiting doesn’t always work and the delay is almost always there when I start entering the keystrokes, rather than when the computer loads the login screen, because I have come back to the login screen after having been away from it for a while and the delay still is there when I start entering the information.
I’ve posted on the forum on Ubuntu a while back, and on LinuxMint forum, as I used LM at the time. We tried several different things but no one could figure out what was going on with it. I have tried different distros and the delay is still there on each. The delay isn’t present on my windows install. I’m pretty technologically inclined but I’m not familiar enough with troubleshooting on Linux to fix this type of problem or to give any good information about what is needed or what to run to give proper output to even figure it out.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
