I am considering getting a Synology for other reasons (NAS, backups, media, virtual machines, etc.). I already have a UDM Pro and a USW-16-POE.
Once I add the Synology, what would be my smartest move on cameras? If you were me, would you nonetheless throw a drive into the UDM Pro and go the Unifi Protect route? Or would you get a different brand of cameras and feed them into a volume on the Synology?
My priorities are ease of use, great features, reliable cameras with excellent image quality, polished well-maintained software, little to no management headaches (just want it to work). I don't like to waste money but I'm not budget-constrained either.
Edit to add: Probably 4 cameras, but room to grow would be cool. Would love 4k resolution and highest framerate I can reasonably get. I'd prefer redundancy but it's not a dealbreaker.
