Can’t deliver anymore because i’m on my parents insurance
Post Body

I delivered all week for a few hours a day and made $200 and then last night (Friday night, which is the top earning spot in my area) I went to go deliver. They randomly asked me for my vehicle insurance and said I can’t deliver til I submit it. I thought this was weird since they never asked me but then I was thinking “hmm, i wonder why they didn’t ask me before, lol” I specifically remember looking at a page that said you only need to submit insurance if you are doing rides, which i did not plan on doing.

Anyway, I submitted it and they said it will take 2-24 hours. 3 hours later I get an email saying it was denied because my name isnt on it. I bought my car when I was 16 and almost 10 years later, still pay my mom back for the insurance because its just easier that way. The insurance paper says my mom and my dads name, just not mine.

Not sure what to do as it seems like they waited until the moment I would earn the most money to go ahead and ask for this, and then deny it. My last name is on the insurance. Is there any way I can get around this? I’m in between jobs so this is what im doing. Seems unfair as I pay for the insurance and you can see on the insurance card its for my make and model of car. Ugh

Edit: i cant comment on this post because I have low karma. For starters yes I am insured through my parents, I will go ahead and ask them to look and send me docs with my name on it so thank you.

Another thing is that I understand why they are asking me for insurance, im just not understanding why now. I delivered for 4 days without it asking me. When I signed up the only thing it asked for was a photo of my license and a selfie. Why would I make that up, lol. They did not ask me for my insurance until Friday night as I stated.

Last thing, If you were able to venmo your mom $60 a month vs paying an insurance company upwards of $200 a month for your insurance, which one would you choose? Lol
