As an experienced designer I thought Upwork would be easy quick wins. Like I thought it might be quick jira tickets to deliver for ppl. It’s turned out to be not that at all.
First off a lot of the projects on there are like: Expert level, design our app but the budget is like $20/hr. The expertise level never matches the pay. Aside from that how are these companies/ppl choosing candidates? I’ve applied to so many jobs on there and don’t hear back for anything even when it’s like 100% match and alignment with my portfolio.
Or is it the case that the ux work on there isn’t actually legit ux work but something more slimmed down?
So yeah curious if anyone here has any experience on Upwork or if anyone has actually been successful at getting jobs on there.
