Foreign Affairs major

I'm a first year registering for classes and I can't get into any of the PL-- classes. In order to declare the major apparently I need to have already taken 3 PL-- classes. This is impossible if I can't get into any of the classes. Plus, I want to at least take an intro class so I know if this is the major for me. Also- anyone out there a Foreign Affairs major? If so, what's it like?
