How to get back into the dating scene on campus

My last relationship was several years too long really did a number on me. But after a lot of introspection and working on myself, I think I’m ready to get back into the dating scene, only problem is I don’t know what the best way to approach it is. I’m not the tallest guy out there so I don’t think the apps are the best way to go, I’d be surprised if they were any good for any guy under 5”8. What’s the local bar scene like, any in particular used to make connections? I’m just out of touch on this issue.
