Not new to shooting sports, but new to USPSA and nationally organized shooting.
That being said, I recently moved from a place that held regular, year-round 2-gun matches to a place where it seems the only options are nationally organized (IDPA, USPSA, etc.), and not held over winter so it seems I have a little time to do some homework. Iām told IDPA is a joke, but Iām also finding thereās a LOT of recent drama in USPSA w/ the whole Ben Stowger thing (which Iāll admit I also know very little about).
I NEED to find a new āsomethingā to shoot regularly, and USPSA seems the ticket if IDPA is as bad as some say it is. But is the sport going to implode? If I join, whatās a total noob to the sport like me need to know before committing?
EDIT 12/24/22: Just wanted to update that I finally made it to a match this past week and had a blast, with no drama or other issues. Got my rear handed to me, but learned a good deal, made some new friends, and plan to attend future matches whenever possible. My advice echoes many here: if anyone is on the fence, get out and shoot! :)
