This carrier has been a menace to our neighborhood. Itās been such a prevalent matter that the local post office is fully aware of her shenanigans. Every time I go there, I run into different residents of my neighborhood there to complain about the same thing and the same carrier. On more than one occasion, Iāve been told by the post office supervisor that āwe know she has been mis-delivering mail, sheās been suspended for the next few days and we have multiple carriers redoing her route to find misplaced mail and packages.ā
She will mark packages as delivered in informed delivery when they are indeed not delivered. On more than one occasion, she put our package in someone elseās mailbox at random because she, in her own words, āwasnāt sure where the address was and needed to get homeā (we live in a 40 year old neighborhood with cluster mailboxes that have our name and address written on the inside??). Not to long ago, I literally ran down my street after her to find my package she marked as delivered sitting at her feet. She was turning off my street and fully intended on leaving the neighborhood with my package.
Most recently, my wifeās Christmas gift has gone missing. Again, marked as delivered in Informed Delivery, only no package was ever left on our doorstep nor in the cluster mailbox lockers.
What finally crossed the line was intercepting a live check for a loan (screw the credit union who sent a live, unsolicited check), forging my wifeās signature, and cashing it. Not that I can prove it per se, but we found it suspicious that when a follow up letter from that same credit unionās fraud department came in the mail, the envelope was already opened.
Itās so bad with this carrier that the post office knows sheās a huge issue and does nothing about it, only encourage that we file a police report and a report with the federal authorities. (We have)
How can this happen? Sheās been, at best, a completely incompetent employee that admitted to our face and her supervisorās face that she intentionally mishandled our mail, or at worst, stole our mail and packages / commuted fraud.
Iām so fed up. Sheās ruining our Christmas and I feel like there is zero accountability happening. I donāt know what to do at this point. I asked if we could place a hold on our mail, but the post office said that ācertain carriers still have access to our mail and packages when they prep for their route at the post office and that they advise against that.ā I guess all I can do is ship USPS packages to a friend across the city because of this carrierā¦
