Why is my package in Louisiana when I live in Virginia?

Long story short, I have a package that was supposed to be here yesterday from NYC but it got sent to a processing center in Louisiana and then to a Louisiana post office. I know it was addressed to me because it is in my Informed Delivery. Can anyone shed light into what may be going on? Thanks in advance
