I’ve had a surgical incision become very infected and I’ve been in the hospital since Sunday. Recovery time unknown (and it’s a leg). Do RCA’s have access to short term disability or am I totally screwed?

Any help here would be massively appreciated. Aside from the stress of what’s happening, and up until today the fear of losing my leg - I do not know how I’m going to pay my rent, or car payment etc.
Any advice on who to contact or what to do?
(My postmaster has been AWESOME. I know I’m lucky to have this dude, he’s the best). But he doesn’t control insurance or that sort of thing, so I’m just looking to y’all who seek to have so much knowledge.
