Hey gang. Firstly let me applaud you all on a doing this job. I started in July after almost 20 years of running cocktail bars and I gave it my best shot.
I got hired in a very small beach town with only 6 routes, so as the only cca I've been getting sent out to other towns. Many times I've been sent to rough neighborhoods and I will be the first one to raise my hand and say "I did not sign up to do this." I have no interest in an all-day panic attack for the dirt that they pay a new CCA. Again, I applaud all of you who had to "earn your stripes" this way, and although I'm willing to work 12 hours a day for 6-7 days a week, this is a personal line I won't cross.
My question- I'm being sent to another one of those neighborhoods today. I don't plan on finishing the route. What is my best option? Kindly return the vehicle after an effort? Don't even bother showing up? Talk to my steward?
For reference I'm passed my 90 and in very good standing with my post master. People keep saying he doesn't like me if he's sending me out to these neighborhoods but the same guy also just offered to house myself and my girlfriend for free while we search for an apartment, so I think it's safe to say I'm well liked at my office. Thanks for the help y'all.
