No Service; GSM IPHONE7+

My ear speaker stopped working on my iPhone 12pro max so I am switching back to my iPhone 7 until the fall.
I popped in the SIM and followed the GSM instructions on the US Mobile website and I still can’t send or receive text messages, make or receive phone calls!?
Emailed and still no response 4 hours later?!
