Air versus Ground Contract
Post Body

Hi everyone,

OSO is away from the office right now and I had some questions about contracting.

How does it work again exactly? My situation right now is looking for acceptance to OCC 226 in September as a reservist. I haven't gone to MEPS yet. Barring a denial from bad PFT, etc., etc., when do I select my contract? Is it during TBS? MEPS?

I had originally told my OSO that I was more interested in a ground contract. However, after some thought, it seems like it would be awesome to fly. I've also heard that air contracts are accepted at a better rate.

With all this being said, what're the differences between an air/ground contract, especially as a reservist? Any advice or experience from anyone? I've originally wanted to get into intelligence as a reservist as I have a couple prospective jobs in the DC area after graduation. Any advice would be appreciated!
