I want to be a Marine. I have a juvenile record. Is it worth trying?

I have 1 felony, 2 misdemeanors on my juvenile record. They ā€œassaultā€/ā€œbattery.ā€ and one says ā€œdomestic violence related.ā€ on the side. The circumstances regarding these charges is pretty bad and it states on two of them I was defending myself but was arrested for it anyways. Adjudication was withheld and I served probation for them. I can own a gun, I donā€™t fall under the Lautenberg Amendment.

I was involuntarily admitted to the mental hospital everytime I was arrested and I know thatā€™s probably going to show up. Diagnosed with PTSD, & Bipolar Disorder (which Iā€™m working on getting undone, I do not have either of those ā€” hoping the military psych evaluates me.)

Iā€™ve faced a lot of abuse and neglect during my childhood and in turn, these things happened to me. I donā€™t want them to define me or how I am viewed.

Is it worth trying? Would the military listen to my side of the story?
